Special Reporter, 16th January: State’s highest civilian award declared, Assam Vaibhav Award to former Supreme Court Justice Ranjan Gogoi. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma announced today as Assam’s highest civilian award for 2020. Chief Minister Sharma announced the names of the people selected for the highest civil award in a press conference organized at Janata Bhawan.
Vice President and Governor will present these awards on 10 February. Former Supreme Court Justice Ranjan Gogoi has been selected for Assam Baibhav Award this time. This award includes souvenir and cash of 5 lakhs. Similarly Assam Saurabh Award has been presented to Kisan Chand Nariyan, Elvis Ali Hazarika, Hima Das and Nadiram Deuri.
The amount of cash in this award is 4 lakh rupees. Assam Pride Award will be awarded with Debjit Sangmai, Dron Bhuyan, Ranjit Gogoi, Neelam Dutta, Parbati Barua, Anupam Deka, Soumdeep Dutta, Basant Chring Phukan, Manendra Deka, Meenakshi Chetia, Butterfly Lakhtepi, Tanzing Bodosa, Nirmal De, Jacin Kumbang Pow, Meri Hasa, Upendra Rabha, Rahul Gupta. Assam pride award has 3 lakh rupees. As published in the press conference by the Chief Minister, one person will be awarded Assam Vaibhav, 4 people Assam Saurav and 17 people will be awarded Assam Pride Award. At the press conference
